Frequently Asked Questions

We use dried urine hormone testing, which combines the benefits of the two most useful methods, 24-hour urine and saliva testing, in one simple test. By collecting four urine samples at specific times of the day, we are able to measure the circadian rhythm of adrenal hormones, which was previously only available with saliva testing.

The DUTCH test is also a dried urine test offered by a lab called Precision Analytical Inc. The word DUTCH stands for dried urine test for comprehensive hormones. The main difference between the DUTCH test and our lab partner’s test is in the following categories:

Biomarkers: The hormones and biomarkers measured by both tests are almost identical, except that our dried urine testing measures a few more estrogen metabolites. In fact we are the only dried urine testing that measures a particular estrogen metabolite group that can be used for breast cancer risk analysis. We also measure 4-point melatonin white the DUTCH test only measures waking melatonin. On the other hand the DUTCH test measures 5 nutritional organic acids such as vitamin B12, B6, three neuro-related markers, and two additional markers including oxidative stress/DNA damage. These biomarkers are not included in our dried urine testing.

Cost: The DUTCH Complete test by itself retails for $499 and this does not include a doctor’s consultation or review/analysis of test results. Feminade’s dried urine test is also $499; however, this price includes a 30 minute consultation with one of our naturopathic doctors that will provide you a full analysis and interpretation of your test results as well as a personalized treatment plan. You will also have access to unlimited messaging your doctor for the first 30 days!

Processing time: Currently you have to wait 3-4 weeks to get your DUTCH test results; however at Feminade your test results will be ready and uploaded 3-5 business days after the lab receives your samples!
